This is a full-day trip, but it’s well worth the time. The Bay of Islands is simply stunning. We loved seeing Russell and learning about its past as New Zealand’s first capital. The dolphin spotting was magical, and the guide made sure we had enough stops for food and photos along the way. Would definitely do it again, but maybe next time stay overnight to enjoy it more slowly.
